Dynamic Reporting

Dynamic Reporting provides the ability to explore, understand and optimize your programs:

  • Summarize trends in customizable durations (daily, weekly and monthly)
  • View granular publisher data and details by individual or groupings of publishers
  • Drill deeper into dimensions such as creative type and detail

Data for Dynamic Reporting is sourced from Transaction Summary tables, not transaction history. Therefore, any corrections or reconciliations applied will be attributed back to the order date and not the date of the correction.

Dynamic Reporting access is available to all Pepperjam advertisers.  

Dynamic Reporting Settings:

  1. Standard User: Dynamic reporting can be accessed through the interface on your left navigation.
  2. Multi-client Login (MCL) User: Please send your login name to your account strategist and they will enable it for you.

How to Access Dynamic Reporting:

  1. Standard User: Go to left nav, Reports à Dynamic Reporting. A new window will open when you click Dynamic Reporting.

MCL User: On the MCL Login Page, go to left nav, Reports à Dynamic Reporting. A new window will open when you click Dynamic Reporting. When accessing Dynamic Reporting through your MCL login, you can filter or select any program you have access to.

Report Orientation tabs allow you to select your view. Note that any selections made in the panel carry over to other tabs with one exception:  the product detail tab can only be used with metric type = orders.

The Filter Selection Indicator Bar shows which filter selections have already been made.

-Use the dotted square with the X to clear all selections

-Use the dotted square with the arrows to undo/redo selections

Filter selections are used to set the characteristics of your report.

  • Select one filter at a time. The report will automatically refresh in a few seconds
  • Scroll through the list or use the search box
  • Once you have made your selection or selections, hit the checkmark

The red X will clear your selections

More on filters:

  • MCL users will have access to all programs and can toggle between programs or select one.
  • Start by making necessary selections to drill into data:
    • Month-Year Combination: MTD for current month is available as well as the last 2 years of data.
    • Metric type: Orders and leads is utilized by default. To select leads or orders independently, you must uncheck one. For customers who don’t have leads, leave the default.
    • Program ID: Select one or multiple. If you select multiple, currency cannot be “native”.
    • Currency: Default currency is USD. Select “native” if you want the non-USD currency view for the
      particular program
  • Make optional selections (one or many):
    • Publisher Category
    • Creative Type
    • Creative ID
    • Publisher Name(s) or URL(s)

Example: Shown here is three Publisher IDs for RetailMeNot for
a subset of advertisers

More on Using Search Filters:

  • Normal Search: Searches for matches from beginning of strings within values

  • Wildcard Search: Search for matches from beginning or end of the string using an asterisk

Charts and Graphs are displayed as line graphs
showing current and previous years of these metrics:

  • Revenue (currency is displayed in the chart title)
  • Orders
  • AOV
  • Clicks
  • Revenue Active Publishers
  • Publisher Commissions
  • Total Costs
  • ROAS
  • Conversion Rate
  • EPC

Glossary provides a comprehensive list of all metric and dimension definitions.

  • To access, click “Glossary” at the top right of the interface.
  • To find a specific metric, use the search box.

Monthly and Weekly trends tabs allow you to filter by:

  • Month or Week
  • Program ID/Name
  • Metric Type
  • Currency
  • Creative Type/ID
  • Publisher Category/Name/URL

Line graphs of weekly trends are available for key metrics. Weekly trend graphs have a scroll bar to view each week in an easy-to-read fashion. When you right click on a line graph, you can download the data in the graph into Excel.

Publisher Category Tab displays data by publisher type/category.

  • Publisher categories are assigned by Pepperjam employees that manually review publishers rather than the category selected by the publisher to avoid publishers self-selecting into categories that may not be relevant to them.
  • We are classifying most of the publishers that have data in the last 2 years and plan to keep up with this until we have a more automated process in place.
    • Publishers listed as “Unclassified” have a very small amount of data.

  • Program ID/Name
  • Metric Type
  • Currency
  • Month or Week
  • Publisher Category/Name/URL 

Below the visualizations, key metrics have MoM% and YoY% tables by Publisher category. Remember, these tables can be downloaded into Excel by right-clicking on the table.

Publisher Detail (Monthly and Weekly) tab provides views of WoW, MoM, and YoY publisher performance.

To see all metrics available in the publisher performance table, scroll right using the horizontal scroll bar.If your results set has a long list of publishers and you want to scroll vertically, first scroll right to the end of the table. Then, hover of the table and the vertical scroll bar will appear

Creative Type and Detail tab is used to view a summary of performance at the Creative Type level as well as individual creative performance for the top five creative assets in each type.

Product Detail report will populate item level details if this is data that you provide to Pepperjam. This report illustrates the top products sold within a given time frame. It is limited to Orders only and is not application to Metric Type = Leads.

  • Month or Week

How to Request a Fiscal Day of Week Start Change:

  • By default, the Fiscal Day of Week start is set to Sunday. The start day of a customer’s reporting fiscal week can be configured in our back end.
  • To modify the start day of week, please submit a case or contact your account strategist. In your communication, identify the day of week start you prefer.
  • MCL users can set the day of start week for each program separately. However, if you anticipate wanting to roll up data across all your programs, we recommend that you set all programs to the same day of start week.
