Manage Publishers Tab:

The manage publishers tool provides you with access to all joined affiliates in your program. You can use this tool to search for an individual or a group of affiliates, to gain access to their affiliate contact information, update their commission terms, or remove affiliates from your program. Let's take a closer look at how to use this tool.

The manage affiliates tool provides filters to help you narrow down any active partners in your program.

In the first column you can search by affiliates by:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Affiliate ID
  • Affiliate Company Name
  • Website URL
  • Email Address

In the second column:

  • The Status indicates the relationship of your affiliate results below. Your manage affiliate tool will always default to show you joined affiliates.
  • The affiliate term drop down menu allows you to filter your results by the commission payout term you have set up for each affiliate in your account.
  • This tool also allows you to search by affiliate categories, such as education, jewelry, home decor, health and beauty, and clothing and apparel.
  • You can further narrow your search by affiliates' promotional methods, such as bloggers, coupon affiliates, and so on.
  • Or you can also filter by affiliate transparency rating (0-5) or by transparency change: positive, negative or unchanged.

In the third column:

  • You can search by affiliate group if you have groups created in your account.
  • You can search by affiliate request date (which is when you sent them an invite or when they sent you an application to review).
  • You can search by join date (which is when you accepted them into your program).
  • You can review your joined partners by specific keywords, such as home decor, clothing, coupon, etc..
  • Lastly, you can also filter affiliates by country and state province code.

Once you have selected the filters above, click on the filter affiliates’ button, and your results will display below. The results are sortable by affiliate ID, first name, last name, status, transparency, transparency change, group, terms, request date, and change date. You can adjust the list to ascending or descending. Once you choose sort, click on the gray refresh icon and this will refresh the list below.

All affiliate names are clickable to access the affiliates contact information, such as company name, phone number, email address, website URL, website description, promotional methods, and transparency rating. This makes it easy for you to communicate directly with individual affiliates in your program regarding important program details such as upcoming promotions or new products!

To the right of the affiliate name is the Pepperjam AFFILIATE NETWORK Chat bubble. Scroll over the bubble and an alt message will appear, indicating whether the affiliate is: Offline or Online. Those affiliates who are offline will have a Grey bubble next to their name. Those affiliates who are online will have a BLUE bubble next to their name. By clicking on that bubble, you can start communicating directly with them through instant messaging. Below that is the affiliate transparency rating.

On the right you can review the affiliate company name, affiliate website, request date and change date. Alongside of that is their 7-day earnings per click, 1-month earnings per click, and 3-month earnings per click, which provides you with a high level view of their performance details. The affiliate commission term is indicated in the terms drop down menu. You may use the term drop menu to change an affiliates' term and use the schedule date to set the new term beginning date. The scheduled date is always set 7 days out because we now give affiliates 7 days notice when changing their commission terms. Only use the scheduled date if you are changing an affiliate's term.

When you are ready to update the affiliate's term, click on the scheduled date button. If you want the affiliate to start receiving the new commission terms right away, it's important to remember to select the allow early acceptance checkbox. This way, affiliates will be able to accept the term right away and opt in before 7 days.

You may also revoke / remove the affiliate from your active campaign by selecting the revoke button. Once selected, the affiliate will be removed from your program right away.

Let's talk about bulk term changes and bulk revoking affiliates tools in your account. Just like changing an individual affiliate's terms or removing individual affiliates, you change the terms of multiple affiliates at once and remove multiple affiliates at once. It's important to select the affiliates you would like to change their term status a by selecting the checkbox to the left of their names and then scrolling up to the "Apply Bulk Changes To Selection" button. Next, select the "change terms" drop down menu and enter in the correct date format here. You may also use the calendar icon to format the date correctly. Next, click on the "schedule terms" button and they will all be transferred into the new term automatically.

If you want the affiliates to receive the new term right away, it's important to remember to select the "Allow Early Acceptance," check box and select the schedule terms button. You are allowed to review up to 150 affiliates per page. If you have more to update on the next few pages, it's important to go to page 2 and repeat the same steps.

If you would like to select a group of affiliates to revoke out of your campaign, you may select all affiliates in the list and scroll up to the "Apply Bulk Changes To Selection." Then you can change the relationship to "Revoke" and click "apply changes." If you have more to update on the next few pages, it's important to go to page 2 and these repeat steps.

Review Affidavits Tab:

The review affidavit tab allows advertisers to track and review all affiliates, who submitted the affidavit forms, quickly and easily through the advertiser interface. You can filter affidavits by entering their first name, last name, and company. Next select a status and a state, lastly click filter. If you want to learn more about the Nexus Affidavit Law, please contact smb-support@pepperjamnetwork.com for further assistance.

Recruit Publishers Tab:

Publisher Recruitment is very important to having a successful program and this section is one which you’ll use quite frequently. When it comes to publisher recruitment, it’s important to invite publishers you feel will be a good fit for your program. You want publishers who have an attractive homepage that is user friendly and includes advertiser categories with a unique landing page, advertisement opportunities, send out newsletters, and provide support. You’ll also want to make sure that the content of the publisher site is aligned with your site content. The goal is to find a publisher that will provide the quality traffic you need to produce sales. A great way to identify whether a publisher is a potential fit is to look for your competitors or resellers of your products within their site. This will help you to easily see whether they are already promoting similar products/brands.

Now I’ll walk you through some commonly asked questions as well as how to recruit new them into your program.

Common questions advertiser ask me:

  • Who should I recruit?
  • Should I recruit hundreds (or) thousands of publishers?
  • Why are publishers not responding to my invites?

In order to cover these questions, I am going to start with the Recruit publishers feature in Pepperjam AFFILIATE NETWORK.

Ok let’s open up the recruit publishers tab.

Please keep in mind that, not all publishers on Pepperjam AFFILIATE NETWORK, are a good fit for your program. So sending out 5000 offers is not going to be beneficial. You want to look for publishers that will be a valuable asset, drive quality traffic, and create sales for your program.

You can search for publishers in many ways. You can search, by publisher name, ID, by the publishers company name, URL or by their email address. The status is always set at No Relationship because you want to view all publishers who are not in your program.

You can also search, by publisher category or the publisher’s promotional methods. Maybe, you wanted to search for, coupon publishers. You can click on that promotional method and press search.   Any publisher, that has listed “coupon” as a promotional method in their profile, will display in this list below.

There are additional categories you can select, for example; maybe you wanted to search for a publisher that has the keyword “gourmet,” in their profile. Simply type, ‘gourmet’ into the keyword field, press filter, and the results will display. This is a great way, to attract niche publishers whose content is focused on specific topics into your program.

Once you have filtered your results, you must review their website, website description, and promotional methods individually, by clicking on their name. After you have reviewed them and you feel, they are a good fit for your program, push them an offer by selecting the check box to the left of their name, select a commission payout term, from the drop down menu and send them an offer. Once you send them an offer, they will receive notice on their end, and will review your offer. Each affiliate may choose to accept or decline your offer.

Correct Commissions Tab:

This section is helpful in allowing you to correct publisher transactions if an order is returned or partially returned. You can enter the Order ID of the specific order, as well as the date range, and update the correct order totals or item totals, depending on whether your account utilizes basic or itemized tracking.

Please note, you do not have the ability to directly edit publisher commissions. This section allows you to edit the order or item totals only, which will then update the publisher’s commission accordingly.

As you can see, there are several different ways to search for this report. You can enter a specific date range or use select options. In any case, simply fill in the required information and then click generate report.

Manage Bonuses Tab:

Issuing bonuses in your account is a great way to incentive your affiliates. Offer your affiliates who have not generated a sales the opportunity to receive a bonus if they make a sale within the next month. You can also offer a bonus to affiliates who reach a certain monthly sales amount, i.e. provide a $50 bonus to any affiliate who drives an extra $500 in sales next month. You can do that in an attempt to grow your own sales by getting affiliates active!

You may also add a bonus in your account to honor an affiliate sale that did not track through your account. If your pixel is down due to website maintenance and an affiliate provides you data that they sent over a sale you may honor their commission through a bonus.

All issued bonuses are displayed throughout the middle of the page. You may narrow down your list by the date range drop down menu or exact date range. For additional filters you may select by the bonus status, transaction id, or by affiliate name click list bonuses.

Let’s take a closer look at issuing a new bonus.

Click on New Bonus. Select the affiliate name and enter in the bonus amount. To save and issue your bonus click the submit button.

Your bonus data will appear in your transaction details report and in the affiliate reports. Where it will be in pending status for a minimum of 30 days. You may make corrections to your bonus if needed within the pending period.

Bulk Upload – New Transactions Tab:

There are couple reasons why you will need to bulk upload - new transactions into your account. If you’re a hybrid pixel and need to batch in your orders to Pepperjam or if you need to upload new transactions if due to your pixel was down for maintenance and you had to upload publisher sales transactions that occurred during that time.

Uploading bulk transactions requires a file formatted to Pepperjam Affiliate Network specifications. Click on the bulk upload documentation – new transactions link for complete instructions.

The upload file must be in CSV (comma separated value) format. The first line of the file must be the header, with the required fields above. The fields are case sensitive and the order of the fields does not matter. For lead transactions (transactions with flat payouts), neither the 'AMOUNT' field nor the 'TOTALAMOUNT' field is required. A zero may be used if either field is present.

Make sure you pass the following fields:

  • PID – This is your Unique ID assigned by Pepperjam Affiliate Network to each program. The PID is Located at the top of your account.
  • AFFILIATEID - Unique ID assigned by Pepperjam Affiliate Network to each publisher. The advertiser can assign this value to their destination URL by using "{subid}" as a place holder.
  • OID – This is the Order ID your shopping cart creates for each sales transaction.
  • ITEMID – This is identifies each sku
  • AMOUNT – Amount for the single item (if used, ‘TOTALAMOUNT’ must be omitted)
  • TOTALAMOUNT – Total amount for the quantity of items (if used, ‘AMOUNT’ must be omitted)
  • QUANTITY - # of items
  • DATETIME – When the transaction took place
  • CLICKID – Pepperjam’s click ID corresponding to the transaction. This can be assigned to each destination URL by using ‘{clid}’ as a place holder. Leave blank if you didn’t track this.

Once all of the above is formatted correctly, as a CSV file, save it and upload into your account. To upload click browse button and select Bulk Upload File and press UPLOAD button. All new transactions will be uploaded into your account and ready to review in your reports.

Bulk Upload – Correct Transactions Tab:

Many account managers typically reverse an individual order in their account under the transaction details report, but if your program has a high rate of daily full returns or partial returns you may find it much easier to create and upload a bulk - correct transaction file into your account. The bulk upload – correct transactions file allows you to reverse or partial correct pending transactions in your account. It’s important to note that this will only work on pending transactions not orders that have a status - locked or paid.

Uploading bulk transactions requires a file formatted to Pepperjam Affiliate Network specifications. Click on the bulk upload documentation – corrected transactions link for complete instructions (please note where this can be found!).

The upload file must be in CSV (comma separated value) format. The first line of the file must be the header, with the required fields above. The fields are case sensitive and the order of the fields does not matter.

Make sure you pass the following fields:

  • PID – Stands for program ID. This is your Unique ID assigned by Pepperjam Affiliate Network to each program. The PID is Located at the top of your account.
  • OID – This stands for Order ID which is the identifier which your shopping cart creates for each sales transaction.
  • ITEMID – This is identifies each sku
  • AMOUNT –amount for the single item (if used, ‘TOTALAMOUNT’ must be omitted)
  • TOTALAMOUNT – Total amount for the quantity of items (if used, ‘AMOUNT’must be omitted)
  • QUANTITY -# of items
  • REASON – Select a reason code from the list below.

Once all of the above is formatted correctly, as a CSV file, save it and upload into your account. To upload click browse button and select Bulk Upload File and press UPLOAD button. All transactions will be corrected in your account and ready to review in your reports.

Placement Marketplace Tab:

The Placement Marketplace is just that - a market place where publishers can upload paid placements they have available for either purchase or a commission increase. Advertisers can review the placements available from their joined publishers and request the purchase of the placement from the publishers. There are two ways to filter your search. One is to click the “placement” tab at the top right corner or the other is to click the “requested placement” tab. You can narrow your search by placement category, placement type, publisher ID, placement start date, pricing type, impressions or purchase end date. Just click the plus (+) sign to the right of the category and fill in the requested information. You also have a sort by option where you can sort by name ascending, name descending, flat fee ascending, flat fee descending, commission increase ascending or commission increase descending. To do this just click the one you would like to sort by in the drop down box in the upper right hand corner.

Thank you for watching our publishers tab how to video! I hope this was a helpful demonstration. You should now have a good understanding of where to find and how to review the manage publishers tab, review affidavits tab, how to recruit publishers, how to correct commissions, manage bonuses, bulk upload – correct transactions tab, bulk upload – new transactions tab and the placement marketplace tab.
