Transcript:

Welcome to the Pepperjam affiliate network how to videos. In this video we will review the generic links, banners, text links, coupons and products.

Creatives are tools that affiliates will use to promote your program. Some affiliates prefer one creative type over another depending on how they want to promote you. In the creatives tab you will find five different creatives: generic link, banners, text links, coupons, and products. We will go through each tab so you know what each one is and what each one is used for.

Please note: You are only allowed a maximum of 10 text links and 10 banners. To gain access to more creative features you can upgrade to one of our other service levels. If you wish to do this, you can contact our sales team at 570-706-3700.

Generic Link Tab:

A generic link is an affiliate tracking link that will always remain active in an advertiser program.  The destination URL for the generic link should be set for the home page.  Affiliates will primarily use this link for tracking all promotions and content for a specific program, instead of using specific tracking links for other creative links.  If a creative is expired in an advertiser program and an affiliate is using this creative for promoting, the traffic will not direct to a dead page, instead, it will redirect and send the traffic through this generic link and to the destination page set.  This link assures that there will never be expired tracking links existing for an affiliate program.  All traffic and sales will still be reported through this generic link if expired links remain on affiliate sites.

You will want to choose whether or not you want to enable or disable deep linking. When you enable deep linking, it allows the publisher to adjust the destination URL, and redirect consumers to a different page of your website instead of the destination URL you have designated for that specific creative. If you choose to disable deep linking, the publisher will not be able to adjust the URL. For programs that utilize special landing page URLs, deep linking is not typically allowed or recommended. Moreover, if a program has special parameters on its destination URLs, deep linking is not typically recommended because it could interfere with tracking. To learn more about custom tracking parameters, click on the blue link that says “custom tracking parameters”. When you are finished, click on the orange “save” button at the bottom of the page.

Banners Tab:

Banners are a great way to display your brand with your new product lines or offers such as; free shipping, coupons, % off discounts, and much more. Next, include additional banner/offer details in the description for affiliate review.

Choose a visibility (public or private). Public allows all affiliates joined to your program to review and post a banner onto their website or choose private and select an individual affiliate or group of affiliates to review the banner image. This option is used when you have created a custom banner for an individual affiliate or provide them an exclusive offer with a unique vanity code.

Lastly choose a status of the banner – active for affiliates instant review or you may choose a date range which will allow you to choose a start date and time and an end date and time.
